"The Yakima Valley contains approximately 75 percent of the total United States hop acreage, with an average farm size of 450 acres accounting for over 77 percent of the total United States hop crop."

OUR MISSION

The Fresh Hop Ale Festival is a non-profit organization whose goal is to present one of the country's top 10 beer festivals, celebrate the Yakima Valley's hops, and support Yakima county based arts and science organizations.

$100,195

That's the amount of money given in grants to over 20 Yakima County-based arts and science, non-profit organizations for 2018.

The Fresh Ale Hop Festival isn't just, "One of the 10 Best Beer Festivals in the Nation", it's also a vehicle for community enrichment and positive social change.

After the work of producing the festival settles down, a call for funding is issued to local Arts and Science organizations to fund specific projects.

Grant Awards are made and presented to the public in March.

“We are so grateful to the Fresh Hop group for funding this arts program for us. It’s been a very positive thing for our school community. It has been so fun to watch the kids enter the Capitol Theater and be in awe of what they’re seeing (many for the first time).

We’re always so grateful for the generous people and businesses in the valley that are committed to enriching the lives of our students."

"We are so excited to hear we are recipients of the Fresh Hop Grant!  Thank you so very much for the opportunity.  The funding will really help us build up more of our art offerings for youth at Rod’s House.  We can’t wait to show you what the youth accomplish as the year goes along.

Thank you again!"

Bree Tait

"This grant money will help our poetry programs immensely. Yakima Coffeehouse Poets is very grateful and, of course, we are very willing to help with the Fresh Hop Ale Festival next fall.
Thanks to your committee for helping the poetry community in the Yakima Valley."
